weekend wear | october twenty-eight, 2011

Friday, October 28, 2011

This weekend I'm heading back to my alma mater in Stillwater, Oklahoma for America's Greatest Homecoming Celebration and I couldn't be more excited!  On Friday night I'm meeting up with several alumni from my sorority at a wine bar downtown.  I just thought I would share the cute/casual outfit I planned for the evening that will be spent enjoying time with old friends reminiscing on college memories.

 1. top, sosie | 2. necklace, Francesca's Collections | 3. jeans, Urban Outfitters | 4. boots, Steve Madden

Have a great weekend!

{ fall }

Thursday, October 27, 2011

"don't you love New York in the fall? it makes me want to buy school supplies.  I would send you a bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address."  - you've got mail

Fall is far and away my favorite season of the year.  A pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks, a campfire, college football, and blazers and tights are all some of the wonderful things that come with fall.  There's nothing else like it, and when it's over, I'm already counting down the days until it will come back.

wishlist wednesday | october twenty-six, 2011

Wednesday, October 26, 2011

Today I am starting a feature titled Wishlist Wednesday.  Wishlist Wednesday will consist of a list of various items such as home decor or style pieces that I have discovered throughout the week and added to my wishlist.  I am hoping that this feature will bring to your attention new and interesting items that you may want to add to your own wishlist.  Enjoy!

  1. The new Design Sponge at Home book by Grace Bonney is definitely the next addition to my coffee table book collection.  This book is full of amazing design ideas and inspiration, as well as DIY projects and designer profiles.  Grace Bonney is an amazing blogger (http://www.designsponge.com/) who I really look up to.  Not only will this book be a great reference for the future but the red color will make my coffee table pop!
  2. These Terramo Curtain Panels from Crate & Barrel feature a beautiful chevron pattern with a neutral palette.  I’ve been absolutely crazy about chevron this season and these curtains would make a great addition of pattern to any room.
  3. Not only are these leopard flannel sheets from Garnet Hill adorable, they’re super cozy as well.  I would love to trade out my plain, non-patterned sheets and snuggle up in these pretty linens.
  4. Once again, I’m crazy about chevron, so these Geo Chevron tights are the perfect addition to my fall wardrobe!  I’m trying to collect more patterned tights this year to give my cold-weather wear a little more personality, and these cuties from Urban Outfitters are just the ones to do the trick.
  5. Polka dots are another adorable pattern that is trending this season, and this Polka Rounds Clutch from Anthropologie is a great way to show them off.  As you will soon learn, I’m a HUGE fan of clutches as well as polka dots, so this precious purse is right up my alley.

Today at lunch I was reading the November 2011 issue of Elle, which Jennifer Aniston graces the cover of. It's the Women in Hollywood issue, which is really inspiring just to read and see what all of these amazing women have to say about life and their careers.  Jen is such an icon and a role model to so many women because of her classic beauty, social grace, healthy lifestyle, and successful career.  She is definitely a person that I do and will continue to look up to.

artist :: dallas shaw

Tuesday, October 25, 2011

The other day while obsessively pinning some lovely things on Pinterest, I discovered artist Dallas Shaw.  Dallas is an amazing artist working from her studio in Wilmington, Delaware.  Her paintings and fashion illustrations are absolutely to die for and would be something to feature in any sophisticated interior.  She also has a wonderful blog, Dilly Dallas, featuring her daily inspiration.  Dallas Shaw, a wonderful culmination of art, fashion, and design, is definitely someone you'll want to check out.  Enjoy!

hello world.

Monday, October 24, 2011

Hello, world.  This is my brand new design blog, cheers to the good life.  I have recently received a degree in Interior Design from Oklahoma State University and am now living and working in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Interior design is my passion and I am so thrilled to be able to start a blog that will allow me to share all of the beautiful things that inspire me daily.  I hope to have several weekly features that will help me to give structure to the blog while providing inspiration and new things for my readers to see.  Although I use design blogs as a daily inspiration, I am very new to blogging.  However, I am excited to learn all about it and improve as I go along.  Hope you all enjoy this outlet of inspirations in interior, fashion, graphic design and more!  For now I will leave you with a few of my favorite quotes that inspire me on a daily basis.
