I know I'm a little late on this seeing as how 2013 begins tomorrow, but it's still not too late to buy [another] calendar. Calendars can be a great piece of decor, and you can never have enough of them. So this is my 2013 calendar round-up - enjoy.

I did a similar post last year about the trends of 2011, so I thought it would be fun look back at what was popular in 2012. Keep in mind that some of the things on this list are not exclusive to 2012, but I felt like they all were notably popular this year.

1. Dark walls // Whether it was an accent wall, or an entire dark-hued room, wall colors such as charcoal, navy, and even black were popping up everywhere. I posted about this dark-wall trend earlier this year, and I love the level of interest and sophistication it can bring to a room.

2. GIRLS // The show about twenty-something girls living in NYC premiered this year on HBO and quickly became one of my favorites. Lena Dunham, who was recently named Time's Coolest Person of 2012, writes and stars in this hilarious show, which I happen to find extremely relatable and a realistic look inside the lives of GIRLS.

3. Jennifer Lawrence // My favorite celebrity of the year has to be Jennifer Lawrence. Not only is she an amazing actress (Hunger Games, Silver Linings Playbook), but she has amazing style on and off the red carpet. To top it all of she's gorgeous and, as far as I can tell, very down to earth.

4. Monograms // I know, I know - monograms are such a classic and can hardly be considered a trend, but I felt like they were more popular than usual this year, and I was all about them. Not only do they personalize an item, but they have a way of adding style and class to anything. Pillows, trays, purses - they all need a monogram.

5. Peplum //  One of my favorite fashion trends this year was peplum. I love the feminine silhouette it creates when it's added to any outfit. Peplum is also very flattering, and it can dress up something casual or take something more dressy to the next level.

6. Top knots // Although I myself did not sport the top knot very much this year (it looks weird with my bangs), it was a very popular hairstyle. I think it's such a cute way to add a little extra something to a look.

1. If you're as big of a fan of the classic Chevy Chase Christmas movie as I am, then you'll be needing this National Lampoon Mug from Urban Outfitters ASAP.
2. I'm obsessing over this quirky Holiday Ginger Jar Pillow from Furbish Studio. What could be a cuter couch accessory this Christmas?
3. These Collection Janie Flats in dublin green from J. Crew would be a-dorable at any holiday soiree you are attending this season.
4. This vintage-y Icicle Tinsel Set from Terrain reminds me of my childhood and is perfect for when you're feeling nostalgic whilst trimming the tree.
5. The faux fur pom pom at the top of this Cable knit hat from Gap is just the cherry on top of a precious cold-weather accessory.
