Happy Friday coming to you from mah girl, Rashida. I hope everyone has something fun planned this weekend! I'm currently on vacay in fabulous Las Vegas for a bachelorette party with some of my favorite friends from college. I'll probably be coming back a millionaire from playing all of the penny slot machines so get ready for that. And cross your fingers that our weekend doesn't end up too similar to the plot of The Hangover. :)
I recently discovered this new (to me) clothing line, Ulla Johnson, and holy mack it is amazing. The Brooklyn designer founded the line in 2000, and her line draws inspiration from how clothes can "empower and inspire women" which I think is so cool. Check out a few of my favorites from the Spring 2013 collection below. Really gorgeous photography as well.
It's not a secret that I'm obsessed with Michelle Adams, editor-in-chief of Lonny, and her amazing sense of style. Last year, her gorgeous bedroom was featured in the August issue of Lonny, and this March, her new - and freaking amazing - apartment is featured. It's absolutely incredible, and everything she does just seems to get better and better. I love how in her new apartment you see pieces from her older spaces used again, which goes to show that when you invest in pieces that you love, you can reuse them over and over and they remain classic and continue to work with your style. Check out the full spread in this month's issue of Lonny here.
1. JT's new album, The 20/20 Experience, is out March 19, and you can stream it for free on iTunes right now. Needless to say, its phenomenal, and we can all really start living again now that Justin is back in our lives.
2. How gorgeous would this multicolored Anabelle lamp by Arteriors be in your house? Think about it.
3. J.Crew's magic wallets are perfect for when you need something a little smaller to fit into a clutch, and the fact that they have one in polka dots makes it even better.
4. Everyone's been talking about these glass bkr water bottles lately, and I'm thinking I need to jump on the bandwagon.
Emily Henderson has been a favorite interior designer/stylist/blogger of mine for a while now, and as soon as I saw her post about her nightstand styling contest/collaboration with Serena & Lily, I knew I had to enter.
Styling vignettes around my house is one of my favorite things to do, and my nightstand is such a fun spot to style. As I styled my nightstand, I wanted to project a clean, yet vibrant
look. Using the lamp and nightstand to serve as neutral bases, I added a
touch of personality with a jewelry tray and a paper cutout of the
Chicago skyline, my favorite
city. The framed art, books, and flowers give that pop-of-color and also help
to balance out the colorful bed. The different layers and details of
this nightstand really work together to capture my personal style and
Check out my contest entry below as well as some other images of how I style my nightstand. And most importantly, do your girl a solid and VOTE for my nightstand on Emily's Facebook page! (If you're using a phone or tablet, click here.) It's super easy, and I would really appreciate it, mostly because the winner receives a pair of GORGEOUS nightstands from Serena & Lily.
Big thanks to my friends Candice and Ashlee for helping me with this mini photo shoot, I had so much fun putting this together!
Again, I would reallllly appreciate your vote! Just head over to Emily's Facebook page, take 10 seconds, and like my entry! > click here to vote! <
TGIF, amiright? I'm traveling to the lovely city of Dallas, TX today for work, but am looking forward to getting back to Tulsa tonight and spending the weekend with some out of town friends. I hope everyone else has something fun planned over the next few days, and if not, at least a little relaxation is in order. Oh, and I'm loving this super cool image of girl-of-the-moment Jennifer Lawrence. I was so so excited she won Best Actress at the Oscars because I adored Silver Linings Playbook, and I think she's an amazing actress. She's also quite hilarious and seemingly down to earth. If you haven't already seen her post Oscar win interview, check it out below and enjoy.
