1 / 2 / 3

It's not a secret that Fall is far and away my favorite season. One of the reasons for that is the style - I love the layers - scarves, cardigans, jeans, boots, blazers, all of it. Now that fall is officially upon us(!) I thought I would share some of my favorite looks for this glorious season. If this isn't enough inspiration for you, I implore you to check out my Fall 2013 style pinboard. It's my favorite go to to get inspiration for outfits for tailgating, patio dinners, weekend shopping, etc etc etc.

girl in a green dress

So when I set out do this little blog makeover I decided it would be appropriate to have a new, grown up headshot. And since I work with my amazing and talented photographer friend, Candice Budgick, I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to take advantage of her and her talents. We had a super fun shoot at this amazing coffee/cocktail bar in downtown Tulsa called Hodge's Bend - which you should definitely check out if you're in the area. As you can see on my site, we got my prof pic, but she also took a bunch of other fun photos. I'm super awkward in all of them, and if you can't pick up on that it's only because she's a good photographer and made me look normal. I guess you could also consider this something of a style post as these kind of look like me masquerading as a style blogger (which I am not). Enjoy.

Emily & Meritt for PBteen

Thursday, September 19, 2013

In case you didn't catch it from the name, PBteen is technically made for teens. BUT. I still consider it to be a great resource in certain situations. Especially right now because celeb stylists and fashion designers Emily Current & Meritt Elliot just launched a collaboration with the brand that is absolutely to die for. Seriously, I love every single piece in this collection. Check out a few of my favorites and check out the entire collection here.

happy wednesday!

1. What is a better reason to keep up on your correspondence than to use these darling What Up Notecards from Leif? I can't think of one.
2. It's September which means it's finally appropriate for me to wear plaid button-ups again! Right? What? It's still 90 degrees everyday? I don't care, I'll still wear this Madewell Flannel Popover and you can't stop me.
3. How darling are these 3 Wise Owl figurines from Z Gallerie? Put them on my desk.
4. I know I will for sure someday have European style bistro chairs in my home - I just wish that day were today. with these adorable Serena & Lily Riviera Side Chairs. Gimme.
5. This "Brutalized Gainsborough 2" Print by Chad Wys is quite eye-catching, and would be a great addition to any print collection.

gallery walls | part deux

Tuesday, September 17, 2013

Honestly, the question I get the most from my friends is, "what do I do with this big empty wall?" I pretty much always tell them - gallery wall. Not only is it the easiest way to fill a large, blank wall space, it allows you to showcase personal mementos and favorite art prints and really express yourself - and I know all of you are just dying to express yourselves through interior design. I posted a couple weeks ago about gallery walls and included some examples of my favorites. Today I'm going to give you just a few resources to help you in your quest for frames and prints as you create your ideal gallery wall.

Clockwise from top right: Target / Ikea / West Elm / Target / Target / West Elm / Ikea / West Elm (bottom left) / Ikea / West Elm / West Elm / Target / West Elm (top left)

Please note that the above frames and prints may not be exactly to scale in my images, so make sure you check the actual sizes before ordering anything.

Also, just in case this isn't enough info on gallery walls for you, here is a little round up of other gallery wall posts from some great blogs:

I hope this in some way helps you with any and all of your big empty wall issues.

You may notice that things look a little different around here today! I've been wanting to implement a new blog layout for a while now. Don't get me wrong, I loved my old one - it was just time for something a little more streamlined and functional. I'm loving what is going on so far - but be aware that it is still a work in progress. Therefore please bear with me as I adjust to this new layout and get everything running like clockwork. My hope is that this new design will keep the focus on the content and not so much about everything going on around it. Anyway - like I said, it's not quite perfect yet, but hopefully it will be soon! What do you think so far?

Cheers,
Ellie
